What if by making one small promise you could change someone’s life?
It’s easy to feel overwhelmed when we think about youth homelessness. We often ask ourselves “can I make a difference?”
Change does not happen with one big step. It happens with many small steps. When you have many people making small changes it amplifies into global social change. Most of the social justice movements show this to be the example.
That’s what we learned walking across Canada one step at a time. It was the thousands upon thousands of small acts of kindness, generosity and commitments that made The Push for Change successful.
That inspiration lives today as we continue to ask for support in the form of small promises.
The question you need to ask is “what small promise can I make right now that will help this movement?”
The steps to making a promise are incredibly simple:
- Make a promise on The Push for Change website
Whether its activism, an awareness campaign, fundraising, a sleep out, or a physical challenge, anyone can make one small commitment.
Choose the promise you want to make and commit to that promise by registering and publicly declaring it.
- Share your promise
Register your promise on our platform and share that promise with friends, co-workers and family through social media.
Encourage and challenge others to do the same.
- Follow through on your promise
The most important part of the promise is the follow through. Completing your commitment builds character, feels good and teaches you valuable lessons about who you are.
- Repeat
You don’t have to stop at just one promise; you can make as many commitments as you want. The more you give, the more you live and experience one of the most extraordinary things in life: the highest callings of being human is to be of service to others.
