Contacted our local high school to have them put together a team that would like an opportunity to “show up” their local police officer’s.
Will be sending out an email to the detachment explaining what we are doing and put together a team.
Already touched base with my CSO and she is on board to help with the drafting of any communication that will be sent to the local media.
Local Roger’s station that I am hoping will be involved with this day.
I have meet with the Principle and VP of the Georgian Bay Community School. They are on board and very excited about this event. They have extended the audience to now include the Grade 6,7 and 8, as well as the high school students. We are anticipated approximately 100 school age children to attend.
The Grey County Team is now full. We will have approximately 15 skaters for the OPP with similar numbers excepted for the high school.
The arena has been confirmed.
I am having one of the students from the school sing the national anthem as well as having two other students run the time clock.
The game will be three 15 minutes period. I am anticipated having a ceremonial puck drop to start the game.
